Grain of Salt

She took a gulp of coffee, when her phone beeped. Her mum had hung up on her again. She couldn’t believe it. Her finger tapped the call button again.

The sudden jingle made her jump. Hot coffee burned her hand as it spilled out of her mug. “Mum?” she asked, her eyes jumping back and forth between her phone and the open door.

By the time she reached it, she noticed her mistake. Slowly, she turned around.

Her mother had always said to take men with a grain of salt. But she’d left out her dad was one of them.

  1. That’s terrifying, more so as it leaves it to the reader to fill in the horror.

  2. Not sure if it was her dad on the other end of the line? Mother’s well-being may be in danger 😦

    1. Yep, she’s definitely quite in danger…. 😉
