Funky munky, he read amused, the keys rattling in the lock. An odd name for a store. He wondered what they had sold back in the day. The estate agent had said it hadn’t been in use for over three years now, though the lettering was still there.
Easing himself into the room, he stopped and shuddered for a second. It must have been years since someone had come in here. It was dark and musty, spider webs lining the walls and hanging down from the ceiling.
Suddenly, a hand shot out from behind him, stopping his scream before he had even formed the sounds.
No one had told him whether others had enquired about the store. Now, he knew there had been others. But none of them had lived to tell the tale of the monster that lived here.

If you go into the InLinkz Story Board it will tell you on the bottom how much time is left for linking a story.

Oh my – how have I never noticed that before…?
But luckily now you mention it, I’ll pay attention to it more closely next time!

He’s lucky he survived to tell about it! …..if people will believe him, something will have to be done about it or maybe it just sits there for years to come. It would be up to the owner of the building, of course. Great spooky story.

Thank you! Maybe the owner of the building will finally realise why no one ever returns after visiting the place…

Funky Munky sounds innocent enough!
Nice story, the ending gave me some food for thought on the monster and how many others it had claimed.

Innocent enough that no one will worry about monsters hiding inside… Thanks for reading!

Good one. But I bet just three or four more paragraphs and you could give us a Lovecraftian chill! Keep working this one, amiga!

I don’t think the estate agent is so innocent…sends the monster food now and then.

Ooh that would make for a great twist! Or perhaps the estate agent is the monster in disguise…
