Just a Little Poison

I was sitting alone on one of the wooden benches in the teacher’s lounge. Of course, students were never allowed in here, but I had been desperately wanting to talk to my Chemistry teacher and the room had been empty.

Lost deep in thought, the sudden footsteps nearly made me jump a mile, but I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the haggard face of my teacher.

He didn’t even see me sitting there, merely walked into the room and sat down on one of the benches opposite me, burying his face in his hands. I was too scared to talk. He was white as a sheet and his body was trembling. Then he looked up all of a sudden. His eyes wide and crazed.

“I just poisoned my wife,” he said. That’s when he noticed me sitting there.

  3. Oops. From a chemistry teacher that wouldn’t have been accidental poisoning. Thinking out loud may be a bad habit. Good story.

    1. Definitely not accidental! Perhaps he should have at least looked around the room before thinking out loud. Thanks 🙂

  4. Great story! Nice suspense! ☺

    1. Thank you!

  5. Oh no, you can’t say anything in private these days. Especially, if you’re a teacher lol.

    1. Nope, you definitely can’t! Though perhaps you should be careful saying private things in a public place anyhow 😉

  6. Yikes! Hope he didnt poison the little girl (or boy?) too. Very nicely done 🙂
